Bio

I’m Bas, born October 9th 1975 in the Hague, the Netherlands. At the moment I’m living in Den Helder. I’m available for commercial work, as well as TFP/CD (Time for Pictures) shoots. Please contact me for more information.

Corethron

Many times I’ve been asked what ‘corethron’ stands for. Well, Corethron criophilum is a little plant that lives in the Southern ocean, an Antarctic diatom. I’ve worked with several different species of diatoms for a while and have seen a lot of them under a microscope, but, in my humble opinion, this is one of the most beautifull I have ever seen.

Photographic Interests

I usually look for inspiration in my direct surroundings. So nature (the sea, birds, landscapes and forests) is most often my subject. Once in a while I plan a trip with a friend of mine and then we visit a special place and have an for ‘old times sake’ day. Since a few years I’m also exploring model shooting of any kind and I hope to find as much enjoyment in it as I have found in shooting other subjects so far.
