The summer is here! For a couple of weeks it is like the summers I used to know from when I was just a little boy. In some ways I hope I still am that little boy by the way, but that you have to juge for yourself. Busy as usual with needing to go somewhere every bloody weekend, a toilet renovation (I truly am amazed by my accomplishments so far), filling in the final tax forms for my Grandma and a ziljon of other things...where are the days that I woke up and really had to think about what I would do that day?
June 21st 2010
Too much time has past since I last updated this site -again-. I was just busy with other things. A serious breakdown of my toilet forced me to renovate the smallest room in da house. A still ongoin' project with a steep learning curve. Then there was a wedding of a good friend, taking care of the ashes of my grandma, a little escape from work and everything to the wet and cold German forests, hanging around the race track with my brother, sitting in the garden staring at the water...just too much to do to sit and process photograhs...well here a few then :)
May 2nd 2010
Hi there! I'd would like to say 'Thank you!' to all the people that come to my site to see what I've been up to. I started my site as a way of keeping distant family up to date with the things I did and saw. In the past years things kind of went out control and now photography is the most expensive way to spend my time. If it wasn't for the fact that still a lot of people (besides family) like what I show hereI'd probably have stopped keeping this site up and making photographs. So, I thank you all :) Thi time I've added some photos I made in the beginning of April with Helen and Jaqueline. Again it was good fun and I'm pleased with the results :)
April 14th 2010
Hello everybody! This time I've updated my site with some of the photos I made between October 2009 and the end of that year. Those photos were just sitting on my computer and I didn't really look after them since there was som much going on in the studio. This is a time limited hobby...and I always thought it was expensive, go figure. Talking about expensive, I purchased a new secondhand backpack and I'm pleased with it so far. So if you see a smiling face with a big backpack and a camera walk by, just wave, it might be me :D
March 26th 2010
Again a model shoot. Demelza visited again and brought her friend Nathalie along. From my previous modelshoot with a duo I learned a few things, and it pleases me that I can see a diffnve betwen the shoots. Do you too? Not only the results, but also on the day of the actual shooting. I didn't had the time nor the energy to go out shooting and I didn't look at the photo's from october till februari yet...sorry...hope you like the shots from Demelza and Nathalie :)
February 23rd 2010
Finanally, I'm up to date with my model shoots and can I have a look at the 'normal' photos the next couple of days. This time I uploaded the results from another shoot with Rianne, again she brought a friend along and we had fun! Although the results look great, it is not what I had in minded and hoped for so I'll have to continue with this. I really like the bright contrast rich yet unsaturated pictures, they give the images just that little bit extra. What do you think? Enjoy!
February 3rd 2010
I have a lens for sale! Anybody interested in my Sigma 70-200/2.8 please contact me. I prepared a lot of photo's lately. I managed to finish the little book I made for a friend and to prepare the photo's from a shoot Violet and I did. I'm darn proud of the results, I think they are my best so far for a model shoot. I hope you like them. The three photo's on the front page were made during a session at the local photoclub, a workshopish thingy around highkey photography. Cool stuff huh!
January 6th 2010
Happy New Year Everyone! And don't forget to take pictures of the things that are important to you because before you know it those pictures become important to you...I added the photos from september, I hope you like them...
December 3th 2009
Well,it's been a while since I updated my site. I see a trend there, hmmz. I have made so many pictures it's hard to keep up. Finally I also got that illness from Mexico I think, so there it was, time! I managed to work myself throuh the pictures I made during august' cruise in the North Atlantic and to prepare some pictures I made with Rianne and Demelza. Can't keep them waiting that long, can I? In the past month or so I discovered how pleasant it is to shoot in a full sized studio instead of a left-over-bed-room in my house. So far I did 4 shoots (more or less) there from which Rianne and Demelza are the second and the third. Personally I'm very pleased with the results, but I see that there is a lot more to learn and discover now :) I hope you like the photo's!
October 25th 2009
Jeuj, I managed to work my way to July's photographs. Next bunch of photos are from the cruize with the RV Pelagia and that will be a lot of work. There is not so much news lately. Most of the time I'm just relaxing and recovering from this summer. Winter is coming, time for hot chocolate and good movies and a warm fireplace :). Let's hope that there will be some great photo moments then!
September 27th 2009
So, after 3 weeks vacation, 2 weeks on an expedition with RV Pelagia and moving my grandma...I'm back! In between all these things I prepareda small series that I uploaded last time. Now I found some time to go over the pictures I made in May and June of this year, a rocky period in my life. There are stil a lot more pictures I have to go through so there is more to come (especially since I'm still way behind :D) Enjoy!
August 18th 2009
Wow, that feels like ages since i worked on my site. A lot has happened which made me unable to work on my photos. My brother and I had to move our grandmother a lot faster than we thought we had to. So All of a sudden we had to arrange a lot of things and since we are both working and were in a hurry there wasn't much time left for much else. Well, next week we have to hand in all the keys of her old house, so then it's all over. Also I was asked to help out on an expedition from Cork (Ire) to Reykjavik (Iceland) on a boat. After that I was on board sailing to Texel...however, I'm back now, sort of, and here are aprils photos :D
June 22nd 2009
It's been a while, but I found some time to prepare the photos from March. I have been vere busy lately with the events of the past. Among these thing was a wedding shoot I was asked to do. It turned out to be a lot of fun and I have some very nice memories of that day, but it also turned out to be a lot of work preparing the photos. They will be on my site somewhere in the near future. What I also discovered that day is that I would like to have a more wideangle lens then the 18 mm I have now. Luckely enough I came across a nice sigma 10-20mm lens so I am playing a lot with it. The most important thing I found out that close is not close enough for such a lens :) Have fun with the photos!
May 16th 2009
Okay, so when you think you're up to date huh...look at the date! There is a reason for this gap in the updates to this site this time. One of them is that the reason why I keep this site up is gone. I started this side a couple of years ago. At that time I moved to the other side of the country and to let my family see what I was seeing I started with photography and my site. A few years ago my mom died of cancer and two weeks ago my father died from that same horrible disease. Last week my brother got married. For obvious reasons I didn't care much for the internet the past couple of months. I don't know for the futhur, for now I only know that without my website I lose my platform for showing what I see. Now I uploaded February, I hope you like it.
March 7th 2009
So, I think I'm up to date now. In november and december of the last year I hardly made any photographs. Bad weather, no inspiration and being not really in the mood to go out and look at what there is to see kept me from picking up my gear. Nevertheless, in januray I've been to te dunes with a good friend of mine, had a splended day and took some pictures that are very well in sync with my state of mind at that point. But earlier that month we had a sort of winter period and could actually skate! I hope you can appriciate my photos :)
Februari 9th 2009
Hey! I updated my site with some beautiful mushroom photos I made in october!
I hope you have as much fun looking at the paddos as I had making them! Enjoy!
January 12nd 2009
I updated my site with the photos from Rianne. Lovely girl, lovely shoot, lovely results :D
January 1st 2009
Happy New Year! I wish everybody all the best for the new year, keep your
eyes open and you'll see :) Then of course my photos. I did a model shoot
with Rianne (piccies will follow soon), but not much else as going on. My
camera was almost complaining about it! Since there are still some months to
go from last year and the weather outside is now grey and foggy and very
cold (for Dutch standards) anyway...I'm hoping I can go out for some nice
winterfun pictures, but for now, hot drinks and enjoying last years memories
:D
November 23th, 2008
As I write this snow is falling gently in the garden. Yet I'm still in a wet
sort of summer vibe when working my way through a pile of photos I made in
August, at the finish of the Tall Ship race 2008 in Den Helder. Really
beautiful fireworks provided a nice background for these majestic ships. Of
course, some other piccies are included as well...next are my holiday
photos...that's a lot of work too...have fun ;-)
October 17th, 2008
Hi all, not much new, just an old series I made with Serena and her friend
Rene. It was my first attempt to work with strobist like equipment. It was a
windy day, the stand with the flash almost tipped over and we had to run fo
the occasional shower. Nevertheless it was a fun day :)...ps you can find
the series in 'Specials'.
October 10th, 2008
Congratulations with me, yesterday was my birthday :D As a present I put on
some new photos. It's ben a while since I updated my digital hangout. I've
been on vacation to Luxembourg and northern France, busy around the house,
joined the local photoclub and so on and so forth. Well, just have a look at
the few new images :)
August 26th, 2008
Again too much time has drifted by before I updated my digital hangout.
Luckely nobody was bothered by it, it must have been because everybody is on
vacation. I'm looking at a huge pile of photograps at home that need to be sorted out. I
recently discovered something fancy (and time consuming) as off shoe flash (check out
www.strobist.com) and have been experimenting with it. I combined that with
my first duoshoot ..., which was fun to do, although I still find it a lot
of hard work for the brainy things inside my head. Nevertheless, all that
has to wait since I'm still a few months behind :D. Proudly I present: June
2008 :)
July 15th, 2008
Photos I made in may. May already seems a far away memory after al the sunny
weeks that have passed since then. Good things happened, bad things
happened, sad things happened. Well, such is life some may say. It might
even be an act of of God (filmtip: The man who sued God) according to some.
I think that peace of mind is not allowed for a continues period of more
than 12 months...
July 8th, 2008
Just a minor update to the 'Specials' section after a day on the beach with
people from my favorite photographic forum, Dutchphotozone. A nice day, lots
of fun and a few lovely pictures :). An update for other months will follow
soon...
June 8th, 2008
Allmost summer! Although it is officially still spring, the weather makes
one feel like we are already in the summer days. Loads of sunny days, no
rain and the nice warm temperatures are turning the world in a apparant
better place. Going more out in the 'wild world' taking pictures is a
pleasant thing to do these days. As I was happy with my snowy pictures from
last month, I'm also very happy with the spring picture collection I
gathered :) These are probably the last pictures you'l see uphere made with
my loyal old D70...I'm new toyng around with a D300 [insert a very big
smiley here]...I hope you like my selection of photos once more :)
May 7th, 2008
Recently I was in the snowy Ardennes. The relics of the second world war are
still clearly visable. A visit to Malmedy, known from the Malmedy Masacre,
and Bastogne really made a big impression on me. As soon as I got back home
I rushed to the viseo store to buy a copy of the famous series Band of
Brothers. The 9th episode (Why we fight), my mood and fellings from my visit
to the Ardennes and the battle of the Bulge musea inspired me for a series
called Ardennes in the Specials on my side. I hope I captured a little bit
of the horrible things that happened in those woods...
April 11th, 2008
Since there are still a bunch of ozzie pics wandering around on my disk I
put on a few on the web today. I admitt, I'm slow with pics lately, but
also, I didn't made a lot of photo's so far this year. A week in the
Ardennes left me with a couple of photo's but I still have to process them.
Just to busy enjoying the nice weather and reading books. The line of books
waiting for me seems endless; yesterday I got some from my boss; I won -for
some reason which is not entirely clear to me- 50 euro to spend that same
day at the university book store...cool huh :)
March 31st, 2008
Had a nice afternoon with Jennifer, both of us are pleased with the
resulting pictures :) You'll find them in specials :)
March 16th, 2008
It's been a while, november wasthe last update...In december, january and
fbruari I didn't took much photographs, so I put my favorites of these
months together. A few highlights; the flyby of an F16 at Den Helder
airport, the deers I spotted and took pictures of in the Amsterdamse
waterleidingsduinen, some lucky shots in the hortus botanicus from the Vrije
Universiteit...Last week I also had a photoshoot with Jennifer so these
piccies and a few from ozzie can be expected in the very near future :)
Februari 19th, 2008
The weather is kinda boring, I have some nice other things to do in the
weekends and it just about now that the days are getting a little bit
longer. Sping is coming! I went to the hortus botanicus here at my work and
shot a couple of nice shots. Also last sunday in the dunes some fine deers
were modeling quite nicely...talking about modeling, it seems like I have a
shoot this week :)
January 28th, 2008
Tada! Well...uhmm, nothing really, I just put up the november 2007
photographs. That month I went with to Kinderdijk to have a look at what
windmills look like, I was snapping pics at the national park Hoge
Veluwe, went to see a storm at the beach and walked around in the
grasslands...I picked out a few photo's I liked, I hope you like them as
well :)
January 10th, 2008
Happy new year and all the best to everyone! Of course I was not so bussy
with photos or my website during the last couple of weeks. I had sorted out
all the ozzie pics so I've put a new set online. I'm struggling at the
moment with several photomanagement programs, it seems to give me a lot of
work irrigardless of which program I decide to use :S...No change in the
status of the November piccies by the way ;)...enjoy!
December 28th, 2007
Still November's photographs need to be looked after and my camera is
already filled up with a lot of beautyful photos from freezing Holland. I
hope you all had nice Xmas days :) I've managed to put up a few more Ozzie
pics, I hope you like them ;)
December 7th, 2007
And see what happens when there is no time anymore :D The good news, it is
dark whenever I'm at home or it is raining cats and dogs so I can't go out
and make a lot of new pictures. However I did manage to finally work my way
through all the ozzie pics, so here is a new bunch and the rest will follow
in batches :) Have a nice Xmas everybody!
September 26th, 2007
See what happens when I have some time on hands to spend on my hobby? I've
put the september series online, I've put the Ozzie 2 series online, did two
model-shoots of which one is also online, spend a day at the local airport
and these photos are also online and made an extremely nice pano with a
rainbow :). Boy am I spoiling you dear visitors :D I'd say carpe diem, with
the dark days comming and me going back to work after this time of not
working (hehehe) the rate of series coming online could be much less then
this month :P
September 6th, 2007
Quick'n'Dirty some pickies from the Dutch Bavaria ChampCar event in Assen.
It was windy, even rain, cloudy and a long day. Leaving home at 5 in the
morning on a sunday is tough. But my brother and I had nice spots. I learned
that shooting fast moving objects with a long tele lens requires a lot of
luck and nice weather (preferably :D)...Have phun peepz :)
August 26th, 2007
Well well well...after spending a sh*tload oftime behind my computer I've
finnaly some photos from ozzieland ready...nothing big or fancy, just stuff
I like...more will be coming soon...:)...Whahahaha, I totally forgot about
July...those photos were just sitting on my computer doin' nothing...well
here they are...august was a bit of a bore, not a singlephto was taken by
me...
July 3th, 2007
What a work to proces 15 GB of Ozzie photos, pfff. Steady but slowly I'm
working on them, they WILL come to my site eventually. Meanwhile life goes
on, so does taking new photos, so the collection of june is now available
:). I also bought some new lenses, a 70-200 2.8 suitable for making portrait
shots. My old 70-300 is now for sale, so for the interested...hinthint :D.
Have phun!
June 10th, 2007
G'day everybody...it has been a while, but I have a serious good reason.
From the end of April until just last Tuesday I was down under. Of course,
maintaining my site from there is a bit of a hassle. However, now I'm back
and -finally- managed to get April's photos online. I hope you like them :)
Meanwhile, I have some 1500 digital negatives to sort out (Ozzie country is
kinda photogenetic :P). I hope that I can have them finished in the next
couple of weeks while still trying to enjoy summer and making -of course-
new piccies...just check my place on the web every once and a while, they'll
be there :)
April 1st, 2007
Being hit right o the nose makes you rugged
and last month was one of those nose-pounding months. Nevertheless, I
decided to go kick (my own) ass and started shooting with a new 'view'. I
put together the amazing amount of three series, one assorted -as usual- and
two theme series. I hope you all like them...if so, please say something
encouraging about the, 'kay? By the way, in May I'm going to 'down under',
isn't that cool??
February 2nd, 2007
I didn't had much time to go out an shoot. Bad weather, a serious storm...a good reason to go to the beach. Although my mind is quite occupied with thinking about almost everything lately I hope I have managed to put together a nice collection of images :) Also, I've ordered a set of studio lights so I can work indoors...so if you want your picture taken, give me a sign :D
January 16th, 2007
I hope you all made a better start that I have this year...I almost lost all my photos due to a computer hickup but luckily it was an 'almost'. So, I looked in the corners of my harddrive to scrape some stuff together for december (all made in december 2006)...I tried something slightly different this month, I hope you like it :)
December 6th, 2006
So we Dutchies just waved out Sinterklaas and waved in Santa :D...nothing new to tell actually :) Ow yes, I forget something important of course. Recently I bought a Nikkor 28mm F2.8 for shooting in the darker days. The photos of this month are mostly taken with this lens. I cannot tell whether or not this lens is a keeper since my 18-70 also can stop at 26 :P and with the SB600 flash that works fine too. My personal life seems to come to rest now, so except for it being dark outside when I get home, my photo enthusiasm should raise once more :D
November 12th, 2006
Again too much time has passed, a pattern seems to be emerging here. My -our- house is a big mess since we are still busy with our 'situation'. Besides that, daylight saving has made it difficult to shoot stuff and the rain and wind outside aren't very inviting circumstances to go out and have fun with the cam. Nevertheless I scraped some photo's together and put them up :)
September 26th, 2006
Finally, after more than two months and more than three weeks late I found the energy to put some effort in my site. The summer was warm and wet and warm again and our vacation just happened to be in the wet part. All photos in the august 2006 series are made south of the German city Koln. It was a really nice vacation :-). The only downside was that shortly after it my girlfriend and I broke up after 11 years (hence the lack of inspiration for a while)...happy viewing!
August 4th, 2006
Wow, last month was a very hot one. The most interesting thing happened to me (when speaking of photography of course) was the possibility for me to buy a Bigma (a Sigma 50-500 lens). Immediately I went to a famous Dutch bird watching site (Oostvaardersplassen) with a friend of mine. Our luck was that the day we were there it turned out to be the second hottest day ever recorded by the KNMI. Nevertheless we had a nice day with lots of photos taken. Have pHun!
July 7th, 2006
Finally, summer has arrived! I hope it well last as long as our winter did! I added a fine selection of photos I made last month. I made quite a few since the weather was fine on the days I had available this month. I was told my guestbook isn't working, so I will have a look at that...Have a nice summer :)
June 4th, 2006
Another update to my site, I hope you'll like it as much as I do. There were lots of photo opportunities, but as usual the weather caused me to sit at home staring out of the window with the rain poring down just when I had a week off from work. Nevertheless, I think I made a fine collection and have to start thinking about how to archive the huge amounts of data generated by my hobby :)
May 4th, 2006
Finally, spring seems to have started. Where I live it always starts about three weeks later than in other parts of the country. Since I'm working in Amsterdam I always have a super long spring. I hope it will last as long as the winter did! Nice weather and living amongst the flower bulb fields is a guaranteed trip in to 'de Polder'. Well, I've been making photographs all over the place so just enjoy the new additions :)
April 1st, 2006
A good day for a joke...since February was quite cold with loads of nasty weather and only the last two weeks of march are reminding me f what spring used to be I haven't found much 'inspiration' to go out and shot stuff. I managed to get some nice piccies anyway, nearly freezing off fingers in the process. Last week we were on holiday, but, our luck, wind and rain where the common weather phenomena observed. That, in combination with a terrific outbreak of the flu in Our House...actually, the pics I did make, it's all not so bad...by the way, check out the best of 2K5;)
February 4th, 2006
So, a full month into the new year and time for a update. It was bitter cold to operate a camera outside, my fingers suffered a lot in the cold wind. I was hoping to make some nice photos of the frozen wetland, but they did not turned out as nice as I hoped for. Nevertheless, with more time now to go out shooting stuff I am satisfied with January :-) I will prepare a set of 'Best of 2005' soon...since the reactions are flooding my mailbox _not_ I will select a series all by myself ;-)
January 4th, 2006
Happy New Year everybody! I wish everyone a beautiful year with lots of nice (photo-worthy) moments! First some good news: I've finished my masters and can finally continue with my life...so regular updates can be expected here! Secondly, I've updated my site with pics from october and a set from december, I hope you'll like them. Next item on my to-do- list is picking my favorites of 2005 and prepare them as desktop wallpaper downloads :-) Finally the bad news...erm...what bad news?
December 7th, 2005
Dear visitors of my site. Since I've been busy writing my final documents needed to finish my study, I wasn't able to update my site (shitty weather for photography anyway)...I'm working hard to be finished with that writing before xMas, so as all goes as planned I will be updating my ePlace ( :-) ) once more...I hope I can welcome you then once more!
October 8th, 2005
Still no tokens of appreciation for all the downloads in my mailbox...well, maybe people just don\t understand how to open a 'readme.txt'...Today I've added only a few photographs, since I wasn't able to get out much last month. Next week I have taken off from work so I might be able to shoot more. I'm proud to add some pics taken with my new 400 mm lens and one pic in which I touched a whole new genre of photography. Furthermore, I moved on to shooting in 'RAW' mode which is quite a challenge...well, that's it for now, enjoy!
September 15th, 2005
Welcome back! While the postcards are gushing in, I'm starting to realize how appreciated I am as a photographer *kuch*...never mind the sarcasm, I had hoped that the people that download my photo's were not 'those kind of people'. Nevertheless, my girlfriend and I went to Germany for a week. Lots of walking in the forest and a lot of gray weather. That was a pity since the surroundings were pretty nice. Clouds and haze made landscape photography extremely difficult. To compensate for the rare photo opportunities I bought myself an old Sigma 400 mm APO lens. No chance to play with it, but that will come. I hope the weather will stay kind, now the days are shortening the photo opportunities will get rare...
August 5th, 2005
Hi, I've updated my site! This time some pics from a Zoo in France, we went there for a one week holiday last month...also some pics shot at the local tourist traps...I'm not to pleased with them though, they look somewhat average...what do you think? The download section is well visited I must say...people actually are interested in my photographs :-). Nobody sends me a card by the way, but that was probably just too much to ask ;-). Have Fun!
June 30th, 2005
Hi, I've updated my site once more. Now, all pics are taken with my new D70, flashed to turn it into a D70s :-) Also I purchased a nice new tele zoom lens (Sigma 70-300 DG APO Macro F4.6-5) which delivers nice shots...Next week I'll be on holiday in France, I might make a lot of piccies there, but don't count on that since I might just as well just sit in the sun all week :-)..Have Fun!
June 5th, 2005
Today would be my mothers birthday...nevertheless, where is the 'news' from april? I noticed that my site is still not reachable every now and then, probably my hosting company is trying to move it from the US to the netherlands...they've tried a couple of times but were unsuccessful so far. I hope they resolve the probs fast. Meanwhile, I cleared up the mess from my site, made a best of 2004 link, moved the 2004 files to the archive and added some new stuff. I also bought a brandnew camera, Nikon D70 with a 18-70 mm piece of glass. I hope I can make my pictures now even better ;-). I hope you enjoy my site :-)...ps, check out the new Downloads part :-)
March 2nd, 2005
The past two months came with a load of photo opportunities (at least in my part of the world). So in the scarce free hours I spent my time on shooting and reading instead of sitting behind my (brand new) PC...interested in my old one, drop me a line ;-)...I borrowed a very interesting book, written by Freeman Patterson titled Photography and the art of seeing...A must read if you want to shoot a little better than average photos. So I hope to improve on my skills in the (near) future :-)...Nevertheless, my attempts of the past two months finally made it onto the world wide web :-) Have fun, and drop me a line with what you think/feel by my photos...
February 12th, 2005
Since it is not really the photo season out there the amount of pics to choose photos for my site from is very small. However I scraped a few together and tried some fancy crops and BW conversions on a few. I also noticed that my site has been down a couple of days. The hosting company says it s due to hardware problems in the US server. As soon as they make it possible I will transfer my site to a server located in the Netherlands, which for most visitors should also improve access times :-)
January 1st, 2005
First, I would like to wish everybody all the best for the year ahead! It's been over a month ago since I last updated my site with new photographs, so I put in two series to make it up. This time I had a very good excuse for the delay in my website since I was out shooting pics :-) .Last month I took over 1 GB of pictures (taking into account a 3MP cam...go figure)...I saw a Boeing 747 in the Amsterdam canals, I went to see "Sinterklaas" (no pics worth showing here), I saw constructionworkers busy replacing tracks at Den Helder station, I saw ships in the harbor (f*cking cold to go to that windy place this time of year)...so I hope I put up something you all like :-)
November 5th 2004
Unfortunately, again a long period has gone by without an update of my site. Although I have a very good excuse (our showerhas been rebuild so our house was wrapped in protective covers, including the computer) I'm not pleased bythe long period. Anyway, I put some new ones up there...
September 30th 2004
I started preparing the Egypt photos, but something came up. Now they are finally finished. The latest thing I've done is adding a php script (hey, I'm a huge n00b, this is a gigantic leap forward ;-) ) that automagically generates the html that is used for displaying thumbnails and main pictures. It also allows you to comment on single photographs. I hope you like it!

Nice weather and a sudden trip to Egypt (pics are on their way) kept me away from my PC. But I put a few of the best I made (IMHO) in august online.
August 14th 2004
I managed to add a few pics I made in july during my vacation in France and at home. Since the weather was just to nice to sit inside and work on my website...don't worry, the photo's are on my PC, I'll put them here later :-)
July 25th 2004
Today I've added a huge series of pics I made at the "Open Dag" at Den Helder airport. The very next day there was the Den Helder Airport Airshow at the beach. I know it's a big collection to put in a single new page but I hope it's not to bad. If it is, please contact me and I'll try to show them on different pages...enjoy!
July 11th 2004
It's been (again -sigh-) a long time since I last updated my site. Due to the lack of pictures and due to my vacation to France there wasn't much opportunity to work on it. Today I've added some assorted pics I found in my archive en the next update (which will come soon) will contain some pics from France. Enjoy!

Hey there, welcome to the new and improved site! 'Nothing's changed' you think...but that's far besides reality. I moved my site to a new location (faster, better, more space, and so on), so please, update your bookmark (if you have one ;-) ) to www.corethron.nl. I hadn't had time to work on the things I promised the last time like the wallpapers, but I did managed to get some new stuff up here. I'm very pleased with the two new additions for my graveyard project. It is difficult to make satisfying pictures for it. Second, I added some pics made during a recent trip in the south/western part of Holland. I hope you like them!

I finished all but one exams for my Masters degree...so...more time for other things (like photography). Although I made a lot of photos last month I'm not satisfied by the results. So I only put up a few new images. I was thinking of adding some fancy stuff to my site, like the possibility to use wallpapers made from my photos and I have a few other ideas as well. I don't know when or how they are available, but I'll keep you informed :-). Have fun :-)

Finally, I've got my cam back from Olympus last week. Already I took it out and started shooting the flower bulbs that are growing in the area. Unfortunately it was not such a bright and sunny day, so the colors are not as bright as I hoped they would be. I also made my last exams last week, so now I have really some time to go out and shoot stuff. A few new ideas have developed in my head for some projects, so in the future you will see more about that. For now I just added some pictures, but some more additions (text/links) can be expected also! Enjoy!

I'm really trying to update my site more regularly, but it doesn't seem that I can keep up. Just too many other things to do I guess. Today I turned my camera in at Olympus for some service, for some reason the viewfinder acts as a collector for dust. So the next three weeks (at least) I will be without my cam so don't expect to much from me. It is a pity I don't have a cam at the moment since the weather is really nice and school isn't keeping me that busy. Anyway, I managed to scrap some pictures together, I hope you like them!

Again too much time has passed since I last updated my website. After a good start with the new layout around Xmas things got a little bit put in the background. I wasn't sitting still in the meantime. The past 4 weeks I had a course Statistics and Chemometrics which consumed a lot of time. I also went to Bremen for work for a week. Unfortunately I didn't had the opportunity to go out and take some pictures there. And of course the weather...every time I had some time free to go out and shoot it was raining cats 'n dogs (just like it does now). Nevertheless, I was working on a project before Xmas at the city cemetery which isn't finished yet. I have put this on my site as a sort of work in progress, so check in in the future and see it evolve (hopefully :-) ).
December 30th 2003
In the original website I had tried to create a members area for the 'badhairday' pictures of family and friends. Unfortunately I don't know that much about javascripting, and my ISP doesn't allow php, or stuff like that. So the security script I used turned out to be pretty crappy (Thank WebDev :-) ) so I'm forced to rebuild that part. Furthermore I decided not to use MS Frontpage themes but to hardcode background and ruler images. I also changed the location of the thumbnails, Now they're stored together with the HTML files. This should increase the loading speed of the site. Lastly, I changed the color of the 'digital' background tile, so I hope there are no more complains about that anymore :-)
December 24th 2003
Hello there, first I want to wish everybody a merry Xmas! The people who know us know that our Xmas is bit different this year than for most people. I was very busy with a lot of things and actually had some time to go out and shoot some photos. Now classes are over for a few weeks, the examinations are behind me so I have some time to spent. To make up for all the time I neglected my homepage I gave it a major facelift. More photos added, on more and nicer pages. For the friends and family who don't like the idea to have their faces all over the Internet I made a -Members Only- area (which is now still empty, but will be filled soon). Some bits and pieces of my new and improved site are already uploaded, but it's not finished (like a website is ever finished). Anyway There's a lot to look at, so enjoy!
October 26th 2003
I put some photos from my trip to the Antarctic on this page (a request from long ago). They are already quite old and flatbed scans from prints, so the quality isn't that good. Unfortunately I don't have much time these days to go out and take new pictures...have fun with these old ones!
October 3rd 2003
And again, too much time has passed since the previous update...one reason is that I don't have much time anymore to make a lot of photo's. Since September 1st I started a masters education program which is keeping me pretty occupied. Nevertheless, I've managed to collect some nice pics for the fans :-)
September 9th 2003
Dear all :-)...My home page is starting to get famous, almost 200 hits (okay, in 6 months, that's not much). Finally I've found some time to prepare some photographs to upload to my site. It's a collection of assorted pics I've made in august in between the hassle of moving our stuff to our new apartment. The other set I've prepared were made at Burgers ZOO in Arnhem. We went there last week as sort of a holiday. The weather was good that day so we were a bit lucky on that part. I've mad over 90 pics there but most of them were crappy. I still have a lot to learn :-)...I'll try to update my site more regularly now...but I won't promise anything...besides...I'm slowly running out of web space and I need to figure out where to go with this site...
August 4th 2003
A quick update...Last Saturday we went to Rijswijk and halfway we made a stop at Schiphol international airport. First we looked at the landing of some planes and later on we drove around the airfield to look at the take off. Still it impresses me that such an amount of steel, aluminum and cargo is capable of flying. It wasn't as sunny as they forecasted but still it was a warm day. A bit hazy, so I used a UV filter. Indeed the pictures look a little bit more clearer (or is that just wishful thinking?). It was fun to take a look there. Our house starts to look like a war zone, boxes and stuff everywhere. I've also disconnected the computers, so al my editing of photographs needs to be done at work (ahum) or at home on my laptop. That's no so cool since a TFT screen isn't half as good as I'd like it to be... Well, that's it for now, enjoy!
July 14th 2003
Due to our upcoming move to our new house I haven't been able to process a lot of photographs. However, I haven't stop making them. I've added some shots I made at Parkpop, the biggest free open air festival in Europe (so they say). I also took my very first shots with my new polarizer filter there. Next I added some images I made so far this month. Nothing special, nothing terrible, just some nice photographs. Last but not least, I've added some photo's I've made at the vlootdagen, the open house of the Royal Dutch Navy. After we've moved I promise to put some more effort in this site...
June 29th 2003
Nothing new, just added some macros of a dragonfly :-)
June 21st 2003
Okay, so nobody is interested in my old computer. My new computer has arrived last week (a laptop) but it seems to be very hard to get the TFT screen to display and edit my photographs. Still, the pictures look a bit to red, so the ones I've posted today are only resized, not sharpened or color adjusted. The series of June is a collection of shots I've collected so far. The one with the yellow flower in it was a lucky shot. Only after retrieving the image from my camera I noticed the incoming bug on that one. I also have been to Gent, Belgium, for one (1!) day for business. I also took my cam with me, but unfortunately I didn't had enough time to make my photographs a little better than a snapshot I hope you enjoy them!

June 6th 2003
Today I updated my page with two (yes 2!!!) new sets of photographs. One set with the best of may (at least, I think their the best) and another set of a few pictures of the solar eclipse of may 31st. So far I've made almost 400 photographs with my new camera and I'm *very* pleased with it. I've been experimenting a lot on/with my girlfriend (not what you think...). We had a few nice sunny days last week and it was nice to shoot some pictures of her under several lighting conditions. I think nobody has been photographed as much as her in the last weeks! The sad part is that she doesn't want her face the go all over the world, so I won't put any pics of her online...
PS...I've made the new pics 800x600, enjoy!
May 23rd 2003
Today we (me and my girlfriend) bought a house!!! Although we won't move until august 15th, we're very excited about it. So excited I only added 1 (one!) picture. My new cam shot 150+ pictures already, but most of them are failures. I'll keep on trying!
May 15th 2003
Finally, last Tuesday evening I had my new cam in my hands. I've been carrying it around for the rest of the week, so I've made a few pics to post here (see the left pane). I have also posted some photos on the dutchphotozone.com (see links section). The reviews were not too bad I must say. It is a lot of fun to read comments from other (better) photographers on my photos and at the end my pictures will benefit from their comments and tips. For those who want to know what my new cam is...my new cam is an Olympus C-740 UZ and I've been *very* pleased with it so far!
May 8th 2003
I noticed some concern from friends on which pictures will be displayed here :-) I guess I won't meet any friends or relatives on their bad-hair-days anymore LOL...But, as we Dutch say, all the madness on a sticky, I won't show the really really bad ones ;-) Tuesday my new cam will *finally* arrive. Sinds I sold my old cam a few weeks ago I wasn't able to shoot any pictures. Fortunately I have some other things to do (like working) to get some distraction. At the moment I'm experiencing a phenomenon called 'inverted acceleration of time'. The closer we come to Tuesday the slower time tends to pass. So, since I haven't made any pictures this website hasn't changed much...
May 2nd 2003
Today I started the construction of my 'hoompeetsj' (Dutch for home page" :-) ). Without any knowledge of HTML I'll try to make the best out of it. Hopefully it will be something worth visiting. My aim is to display some photographs I've made (for a start :-) ). I have no intention to create a really impressive cool state of art HTML thingy, so plain text, frames and photographs are probably all that will be published...
